The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is situated on the equator, west of Nanyuki between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. The Conservancy boasts of the largest Black Rhino sanctuary in East Africa and in 2013 reached a population milestone of 100 black rhinos. It also houses the three remaining Northern White Rhino in the world. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated here, and provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees. It is the only place in Kenya where these great apes can be seen. The Conservancy is host to the “Big Five” among a large selection of other African animals. Early morning game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Depart for Samburu National Reserve to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park. Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras, gerenuk,Beisa oryxes and a host of the big game including elephant and lion. Samburu Sopa Lodge

Samburu Sopa Lodge is situated in one of Kenya's most famous wildlife areas. Tastefully decorated in keeping with the colourful Samburu people. Situated in the middle of the Samburu Park, on raised ground giving panoramic views of the dramatic and rugged land surrounding it.

All the public areas are spacious and offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. The restaurant and reception are decorated with local artifacts and rich earth colours typical of the Samburu area. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool. Additional activities include a visit to a Samburu village, guided nature walks and bird watching.

The lodge is built to reflect the architectural heritage of the local communities whose sons and daughters make up the majority of the work force at the lodge. Fifteen cottages, each with two bedrooms are built in an arch formation on either side of the public areas to surround the waterhole but leaving a wide gap to allow the animals free movement to the water.

After breakfast proceed for a game drive in this lush and region of north. The water of Ewaso Ny’iro River attracts a profusion of game. This area is known for the rare species of wildlife that are endemic. On this day you can choose to either have a full day game drive from 8am to 4pm, with packed lunch served inside the park or have morning and evening game drive with lunch at the lodge. Depart Samburu after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving at the Park in time for lunch. In the afternoon a game drive is planned. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.
