4 Days Affordable Kenya Safari
This safari is for those who want to experience the flora and fauna of 2 different parks. Maasai Mara is home to all of the Big Five animals and Lake Nakuru is popular for its pink flamingos and white rhinos. Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found here.
Depart Nairobi in the morning at 08:00 am and drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. The park is Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and one of the largest concentrations of black rhinoceros in the world, as well as a large population of white rhinos, are found here. Also of interest is an area fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild's giraffes. Among the predators are lions, leopards and large pythons hiding in the dense woodlands which may occasionally be seen crossing roads or dangling from trees. Other game includes Thomson’s and Grant's gazelle, the long-eared leaf-nosed bat, colobus monkey, rock hyrax, hippo, waterbuck, impala, striped hyena, bat-eared fox, wildcat, reedbuck and golden cat. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
Lunch, Dinner
You will enjoy an early breakfast and then view the game as we exit the park. We drive via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch at Masai Mara Lodge. We go on an afternoon game drive till dusk, then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
You have a full day to spend exploring the park in search of the Big 5. An optional hot-air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$450 per person. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe that over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopards, many kinds of antelopes, and elephants. Mara is where the most spectacular event in the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from Serengeti in Tanzania in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah - lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures. An optional visit to a local Maasai village at a cost of US$35 per person is not included in the price. All meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast and check out by 8.30am, depart for a return road transfer back to Nairobi. Arrive Nairobi in the afternoon. Drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your home bound or at your Nairobi Hotel.
