You will depart for Amboseli National Park, which is truly classic Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery, it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest free-standing volcanic mountain in the world and topped by one-fifth of all the ice in Africa. Against this magnificent backdrop, vast herds of elephant are accompanied by a kaleidoscope of other fabulous animals, including lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle, hippo, and wildebeest. You’ll arrive at your preferred choice of accommodation in time for check-in and some delicious lunch. The afternoon will be spent on a game drive in search of the “Big Five” and other animals. Set in 200 acres of private land, and with a rustic charm all of its own, the lodge nestles in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at almost six thousand metres, is Africa’s highest and most famous snowcapped mountain. It was this region of Kenya that, in the 1930’s, inspired Ernest Hemingway’s unforgettable stories ‘The Snows of Kilimanjaro’ and ‘The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber’ which were turned into more than successful feature films in the late 1940’s due to their renowned actors. All forms of wildlife still abound in this wilderness which continues all the way to the Amboseli National Park, an easy twenty minute drive away from the lodge.

The lodge is set within mature and wooded gardens, with fragrant frangipanis, colourful bougainvillea and giant cacti which all thrive in these surroundings. The gardens are an ornithologist's paradise, besides being a temporary home to monkeys, mongooses, squirrels, duikers, the occasional gazelle and once in a while, even an inquisitive leopard. Wildlife is abundant in this wilderness, which continues all the way to the Amboseli National Park, a 20 minute drive from the lodge. Over six hundred breeding species of birds can be found in the park, as well a host of rare and wonderful wildlife. This is also home to the Maasai people, perhaps the world's most renowned African tribe, who provide an open-air local craft market for guests.

A walkway over a fishpond leads to the the Kibo restaurant opening onto a terrace, where a multi-ethnic combination of European, African and Asian dishes, all made with fresh produce, are served. Wherever possible, all the produce required is sourced from the rich farmland areas nearby, supporting the surrounding agricultural communities. Morning and afternoon game drives to view wildlife against the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park offers a wide variety of wildlife but the principal attraction is its vast herds of elephants within the park. The bull elephants here have some of the largest tusks in Kenya. Other games include: zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, leopard, caracal and serval cat. The park boasts a rich bird life such as ibis, egret, avocet, common and saddle-billed stork, secretary bird, heron, vultures, ducks, and geese. Overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge on full board basis.

We will depart Amboseli in the morning and drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. The park is Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and features one of the largest concentrations of black rhinoceros in the world, as well as a large population of white rhino. Also of interest is an area fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes. Predators here include lion, leopard, and large pythons hiding in the dense woodlands—which may occasionally be seen crossing roads or dangling from trees. Other game includes Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, the long- eared leaf-nosed bat, colobus monkey, rock hyrax, hippo, waterbuck, impala, striped hyena, bat-eared fox, wildcat, reedbuck, and golden cat. Located on the slopes of Oloongams Hills, it is one of the first lodges to be built in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Guests are drawn to this lodge built in an ethnic design, surrounded by a rich landscape, covered in fauna, from huge desert cacti to sweet smelling jasmine flowers, all within the fabled Masai Mara game reserve.

Famous for the abundance of lion, the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Maasai people, well known for their distinctive custom and dress, it is without a doubt one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations.

All the buildings follow the design of traditional African roundhouses, with conical roofs, and these stretch along the line of the hills with the impressively large public area buildings and the swimming pool at their centre. The lodge has fifty guest cottages divided into two wings to either side of the main public areas. Each of these houses has two spacious guest rooms with queen and king size beds; mosquito nets; electronic safes; dressing tables; en-suite bathrooms and sheltered verandas that all have views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond.

The full day spent exploring the park in search of the “Big Five.” An optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of $450 USD per person. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe—over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes, and elephants. It is here that the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture. After breakfast we will drive to Lake Naivasha—the highest and purest of the Great Rift Valley lakes. This area is famous for its birdlife. It is a breeding ground for pelicans, fish eagles, cormorants, and many more. You will also find other animals such as hippos, zebras, antelopes, and Colobus monkeys. In the afternoon you’ll take a boat ride along Lake Naivasha to Crescent Island, where you will be doing a nature walk next to zebras, giraffes, wildebeest,waterbucks, antelopes, and many types of birds. Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge is a luxurious safari lodge located on the shores of Lake Naivasha one of the Great Rift valley’s fresh lakes known for its stunning natural beauty and wildlife. The lodge is set on a one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with acacia bushes & trees situated on the southern part of the lake and it is approximately 90km which takes 1-hour drive and 45min flight from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city.

Accommodation provided at the lodge include guest rooms and cottages. There is a total of 21 cottages which consists of 4 rooms each adding up to 84 rooms all with panoramic views of the lodge enviros and the lake.
